2023 Ryan Road Single Vineyard Grenache

Bright ruby-red in colour. Lifted cherry cola and red liquorice aromas dominate the nose along with the spicy complexity of cinnamon and cloves. The palate is rich, soft and cuddly with fleshy fruit flavour and tannin roundness and finishing with a fresh vibrancy and persistent length. A wine which can be enjoyed upon release but with great potential over the medium term.

 

VINEYARD INFORMATION:

The Ryan Road Vineyard is nestled in the foothills of the Sellicks Ranges, peering North-West along the Aldinga coastline. Planted on a unique low-vine trellis, this Grenache is only mad when a vintage is declared as ‘outstanding’.

 

WINEMAKING NOTES:

Hand-harvested and whole berry destemmed, 10% whole bunch clusters are incorporated into the ferment. Following a five day cold soak, the wine is naturally fermented in traditional open-top fermenters. Following a period of 15 days on skins, the wine was pressed off to 100% seasoned French Oak for 12 months of undisturbed maturation. Just prior to bottling, the wine was blended and then naturally clarified.
