2021 Olivers Road Single Vineyard Grenache
Seductive glazed cherry, kirsch and raspberry aromas are underpinned by a five-spice complexity. A mouth- filling wine which is intensely flavoured, fleshy and precise, finishing with focus, finely textured tannins and excellent palate length. This wine displays all the elements expected from a pedigree vineyard, ensuring it will mature well for several years to come.
Vineyard Information:
Located on Oliver’s Road in the Seaview sub-region of McLaren Vale at an altitude of 93 metres above sea level and planted on a gentle southerly facing slope. This consistently low yielding vineyard is over 75 years old and is hand manicured throughout the growing season to ensure it yields no more than two tonnes/acre.
Winemaking Notes:
Hand-picked and destemmed with 25% whole bunch clusters retained. The fruit was cold soaked for five days before being allowed to naturally warm to begin fermentation. Pressed off after 20 days on skins to 100% seasoned oak barrels. The wine was matured for nine months on press lees before being blended, naturally clarified, and bottled.Alcohol: 14.5%
