2018 Olivers Road Single Vineyard Grenache

  • Beautifully perfumed red-cherry fruits, spice and undertones of dried herb aromas. The palate is slick and rounded, focused and delicious.  The grapes are from a pedigree vineyard, the wine will mature well for many years to come.

    Vineyard Information:

    Situated on Olivers Road in the Seaview sub-region of McLaren Vale at an altitude of 93 meters above sea level. On a gentle southerly facing slope, the low yielding vineyard is approximately 75 years old. The old-vines are hand manicured throughout the growing season and the yields are moderated to less than 2 tonnes/acre.

    Winemaking Notes:

    Hand-picked and destemmed, with 25% whole bunch clusters added back. The fruit was cold soaked at 8ºC for 6 days before being allowed to naturally warm to begin fermentation. A long slow fermentation with near 20 days on skins before being pressed off to seasoned oak barrels. The wine was matured for 10 months on full press lees before being racked to bottle.
