2019 La Gita Fiano
Alluring white-currant and elderflower, fresh lemongrass and grapefruit aromas. A refined and textured mouthfeel, with a crisp and refreshing finish. All hallmark characteristics of cooler climate Fiano.
The fruit was sourced from our Peters Creek Vineyard in Kangarilla. The vineyard sits at an altitude of 330 metres above sea level on a north facing slope. This vineyard is right on the boundary of the cooler Adelaide Hills wine growing region and is perfect for the slow and optimum ripening of the Fiano variety.
The Fiano variety is a native to the Campania wine region of Italy and seems to grow exceptionally well in the hills surrounding McLaren Vale. The fruit was hand harvested and chilled to 6ºC before whole bunch pressed. The juice then cold settled for 6 days prior to being racked bright to start fermentation. The wine was fermented to sugar dryness and then left for two months on yeast lees before being naturally clarified and bottled.
